Colour is the big news this season – never before have we seen such a vibrant palette in the Spring and Summer collections. Just what we needed after a long hard winter, a colour shake-up. Fashion’s bold brights are a rainbow of tropical shades that exude confidence and bravado, so be bold– muted shades have taken a back seat and clear brights are having a ball. Hot corals, daffodil yellows and sizzling oranges abound with electric blues, purples and bright intoxicating greens. Even those more at home with the softer muted watercolour tones, can add the odd hot shot of bright colour; this treatment gives a current edge to the new season’s denim too. Have fun using blocks of bright colour together or blend them with your neutrals for some stunning effects – no need for a major wardrobe crisis, simply invest in a few zingy pieces and be confident with colour; don’t be shy!
A braver lip colour or a flash of brilliance from a new eye pencil will be the smoothest transition into this luminous new look for most of us, but whatever you do, enjoy and don’t miss the moment. It is far from being a new look for only young faces, the new brights can reinvent everyone’s make-up, so forget the natural look and take your chance now.
